Dream we see in winter
A little after midnight, Shaghayegh is suddenly thrown from her bedroom in modern-day Tehran into Tang-era Chang’an, ancient China.
And guess what she wants? That’s right — she just wants to go home! Like any reasonable person who suddenly finds herself trapped in the wrong century, surrounded by guards, courtiers, and people who think a cell phone is a tool of witchcraft.
But going home isn’t so easy when Yang Tianhua is standing in the way — a handsome, proud, and stubborn warrior who seems to have made it his life’s mission to block every possible path back.
Frustrated and confused, Shaghayegh feels like she’s been kidnapped by a very elegant land-pirate who calmly insists he’s “just protecting” her.
So, of course, she keeps plotting her escape… again and again.
And that’s not even the worst of it. Before long, she finds herself entangled with gods, sorcerers, and inhabitants who have absolutely no patience for a lost girl from Tehran — and now she has to deal with all of them while somehow finding a way back.
The Dream We See in Winter is a charming blend of fantasy, humor, and time-crossed romance — a tale of confusion, magic, and emotions that blur the boundaries between worlds.
From the inscribed palaces of Bisotun in Iran to the golden halls of ancient China, this novel is a journey filled with violet gates, mythical beings, and a girl who’s certain she doesn’t belong in that world… or maybe she does.
But the gate won’t stay open forever.
