Dr. Vijayakumar Balakrishnan, popularly known as Subham Vijayakumar, discovered his passion for astrology early in life. During his college years, he immersed himself in astrology books and magazines, laying the foundation for his lifelong journey. He holds an MSc in Bioinformatics from Bharathiar University and a PhD in Biophysics and Bioinformatics from the University of Madras. While pursuing his PhD, he began formal astrology studies at the Sri Ramanujar Astrology Training & Education Center in Chennai, earning the esteemed title of Jothida Sironmani in 2013.
Vijayakumar honed the Bhiru Nandi Nadi method under the tutelage of L. Duraisami in Dharapuram and shared his expertise at astrology seminars. Under Guruji Gopalakrishnan (GK Astro) in Tiruppur, he delved into Chandra Nadi, Choli, and Jamakkol Prasanam, receiving accolades like Medical Astrology Rathna and Jamakkol Rathna. He also mastered KP (Old Method and Advanced KP) and engaged audiences through his YouTube channels, Sree Subham Astrology and Astro Subham Vijay. His thirst for learning led him to further training under multiple Gurujis.
After a successful postdoctoral career in the USA, Vijayakumar chose to pursue astrology full-time in 2022. Since then, he has focused on teaching, writing, and conducting research. Recognized for his contributions, he received the Vedanga Jyotisha award in 2023 and the Next Generation Astrology Award 2024. He is currently developing innovative astrology methods, including Genetic Astrology, and continues to teach advanced topics while preparing for upcoming publications.
