The Lord Jesus came to the world in order to lift the mankind from bondage of sin they are subjected to. The heavenly Father sent his only Son to teach mankind how to live perfectly obeying God’s Commandments and attain Salvation. Jesus reduced the ten commandments given through Moses to two: namely to Love God and to Love one another. One who love his friend/ neighbour as himself must be prepared to even sacrifice his life for the other.
The main principles of Jesus were preached on the Mount of Sermons near the Sea of Galilee (Matthew 5:3-). Jesus called those hungry poor people who sat on the slopes of the mountain as ‘Blessed’. Those lectures greatly uplifted the self-esteem of the poor and downtrodden people.
The conversation of Jesus with the Samaritan woman, an outcast for jews, took place at the well of the forefather Jacob in the desert of Sychar was truly revealing. The lady and her community could find out the way to eternal life by believing in Jesus.
The Resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ on the third day serves as the cornerstone for propagation and evolution of Christianity. It represents the ultimate affirmation of hope offering the promise of New life beyond death. Resurrection is traditionally viewed as the Feast of Feasts. It is considered even more important than Crucifixion as it represents the victory over sin and death. Resurrection of Jesus is the first of those who have fallen asleep (1Corinthians 15:20).
