Description

Moist Eyes of Budhwarpeth is a narrative in the form of prose and poetry which tells us about the life in red light areas, their emotions, their daily wage, the bawds and upbringing of children from such areas. Ms. Padmini Panse held the banner and alongside with Ira Kuvalekar and Eshan Shahade had an evening tea at a brothel which definitely helped us to gather facts and put forth in short fiction adding fulcrum to documented pieces.

Prostitution as a word means to trade skin for monetary exchange. Being one of the oldest professions since Rig Veda, we have gift wrapped woman and have presented as ambrosia and the former were known as Devdasis – Dev means God and Dasi as female servants.

“Now the angel of the Lord found Hagar by a spring of water in the desert-the spring along the road to Shur” – Genesis 16:7
