The City of Malikpore today is a far cry from what it was under the paternal care of Maharaja WIlley Singh. A strange world where the past and the present have conspired successfully to deny an entry to the future. A past which no one is sure of, yet which is described with a certainty of a gospel truth and the present that meanders into the past that is nothing but an imaginary recreation of the the present. At the cusp of India’s independence, Satyaveer, the most illustrious son of the city, was successful in forcing the Maharaja to join independent India.
