Indian Horizons has been conceived & designed as a curtain raiser for all those who wish to be acquainted with Indian thought & achievement in the areas of culture, civilization, philosophy & religion.
It is also meant for those beyond the borders of India who are genuinely interested in Indian religion but have little time or incentive to go for an intensive study.
In sketching the basic tenets of the Hindu view of life, the author tries to invoke the interest of the general reader by infusing a critical slant. The traditional parts have been kept intact through a rich variety of stories relating to creation, evolution of life, life-stories of mythological Gods, Saints and singers, and stories of wars, heroism, devotion and courage. The cavalcade of seers, sages, teachers and reformers who have acted as a bridge between traditional wisdom and contemporary life provides the backdrop of Indian life down the corridor of time & history.
