The novel Firki: The Ganga Ghat Girl is a touching and heart rending story of Firki; a small girl living on the Ghats of the Ganges in the city of Varanasi. She was fourteen years of age and an orphan since her parents had thrown her on the bank of Ganges. The Ganga Ghat was her home; her place to earn food and livelihood. Firki was a beautiful girl with black jet curly hair. Her wild eyes and sharp nose were the unique traits of her personality. Firki had lived in the company of saints and sages since her childhood; she had accumulated knowledge of astrology and palmistry. She had the magical power to get an insight into the things. She was given the name of Daisy by an American couple who visited Varanasi when she was a small child of four years. Her original name was Firki since she was moving all around the city aimlessly. It was a chance that The American couple Ben Shaw and Samantha Shaw adopted her as her face resembled their only daughter Daisy who had died of cancer a few years ago. Ben Shaw was the owner of Ben Shaw Aeronautic Company that had manufactured and sold small planes and helicopters. Ben Shaw and Samantha Shaw died but they wrote The Last Will declaring Firki as the real hair apparent of all the property of 500 million dollars Firki is now Daisy who comes in the contact of Diana; Clara and other gangsters who planned to rape and murder her. The novel depicts the world of lust; lesbianism; deception; fraud; conspiracy and all the sexual perversions. Firki loses her identity and is lost in the bog of corruption; perversion; lesbianism; sexuality, annihilation as the people need to look to the East for moral and spiritual sustenance.
