Dr. Rajeep Kumar Tirkey, holds PhD in English from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal, Sangrur, Punjab. His research focuses on African American young adult literature and postcolonial literature, examining how these genres shape the development of adolescent identity, values, and social consciousness. Presently serving as an Assistant Professor of English at St. Xavier's College, Mahuadanr, Jharkhand, Dr. Tirkey's work delves into the challenges of adolescence within the context of racism and the potential for cross-racial and multicultural connections. His research specifically explores the writings of acclaimed African American authors Walter Dean Myers, Mildred D. Taylor, and Angela Johnson, evaluating how their works address the complexities of family, community, education, and societal pressures, while offering a lens for young readers to navigate issues of identity, belonging, and resistance.
