Dr. Rajakumar Marol is a distinguished pediatrician with a remarkable career in academics, clinical practice, and medical leadership. Currently serving as the Professor and Head in the department of Pediatrics at a reputed Medical College and President of the Infectious Disease Chapter of Indian Academy of Pediatrics Karnataka (2025), he has made significant contributions to pediatric healthcare, particularly in infectious diseases and educating parents.
Author has treated more than 2 lakh children and observed their parents over a period of 27 years of his practice and 18 years of his academic career.
A Fellow of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (FIAP), Dr. Marol has held several key positions within IAP, including Executive Board Member (2020 & 2021) and Joint Secretary of the Central IAP Medicolegal Chapter (2021). He is the Founder President of the Medicolegal Chapter of IAP Karnataka (2020) and currently serves as an Executive Board Member of the IAP Medicolegal Chapter (2023-2025).
His dedication to medical ethics is evident in his role as Administrator of the National Independent Ethical Committee of IAP (2023-2025). He has also served in leadership roles within IAP Karnataka, including Joint Secretary (2019) and Vice President (2017). His contributions to pediatric healthcare advocacy include serving as Member of the PC-PNDT Committee (2012-2018) and President of IAP Haveri (2012).
Dr. Marol’s excellence in medical education has been recognized with the Best Teacher Award from IMA Karnataka (2024). He is also an esteemed Past President of the Child Welfare Committee, Haveri, and a Partner at Shivajyoti Institute of Child Health, Haveri.
The author has served as a faculty member at numerous state and national scientific Pediatric conferences,recognized for his outstanding contributions to child health. With 14 scientific publications, and 6 book chapters he continues to contribute to pediatric research and education, shaping the future of child healthcare in India.
