Marcus Santiago was born and raised in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in 1979 before attending art school at The Kubert School in NJ, USA to learn how to become a professional illustrator with the aim of drawing comics and graphic novels.He moved to India and worked various office jobs while doing art on the side.He started “Useless Facts, Badly Drawn” on Instagram in 2019 as a way to keep practicing digital art regularly. With a following on Imgur.com and other places, his audience slowly grew until he felt enough comic strips had been drawn that he could finally release it as a physical book.At the heart of Useless Facts is the idea that all knowledge is interesting, fascinating and fun, even the “useless” trivia– in fact, especially the useless trivia!Marcus continues to live and work as an artist in New Delhi, India with his long suffering wife, motorcycle, and two rambunctious pet turtles who won’t stop nagging him for even more food.
