Born: 1933 April, In Thirurkad Desom, in Malabar under British India Died: October 2007 Education: After Afdal-ul-Ulema from Madras University, he passed L.T.T.C Examination of Kerala Governemnt. Then he graduated in Arabic from Kerala Univeristy (1969) and Post gradutaion as a private student from Calicut University (1971), winning First Rank. Career: High school teacher from 1955 to 1972.- in Farook College Campus School and Areekode Oriental High School. After being selected by P.S.C., in Govt High Schools at Areecode, Alappuzha, Pandikkad, Payyannur and Perintalmanna. College Lecturer from 1972. Began at Maharaja's College, Ernakulam. Then at Sanskrit College, Pattambi; Govt. College, Chittoor. From 1980 to 1984, worked as Lecturer under Ministry of Higher Education in Nigeria. On returning, he was HOD of Arabic Dept in Govt. College, Kasaragod. Then at Govt. College, Koilandi. In 1986 was Principal in CKG College, Perambra. Retired as Principal from PTM Govt. College, Perintalmanna. After that for about ten years, worked as Principal in private institutions like Mankada Salafi Educational Centre, Darul Najath Arabic College, Karuvarakundu. For about six years he was Board of Examinations Member and for four years, Board Chairman in Calicut and Kerala Universities. Board of Examinations Member for Kerala Government for six years. Was Deeply interested in literature and music. There are so many poems, Arabic Language studies, Arabic Nursery Rhymes (Anasheedul Athfaal) written by him.2.Habeeb Ibn Umer Maqdoom Born: 1964 May, At Tirurkad in Malappuram District, in Independent India. Education and career: B.Tech from Thrissur Govt., Engg College, M.Tech from CUSAT. Presently working as Chief Engineer in Merchant Navy. - In 2003 received special jury award for producing the film 'Guda' in tribal dialect. - S. K.
